Foundation Mission

Rocky Mountain Charter School Foundation exists to support the establishment and development of Rocky Mountain Charter School and its vision for an exceptional public charter school where students are challenged academically, supported as whole individuals, and equipped with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and experiences needed to thrive.

The educational vision brings together Alberta's curriculum with health and wellbeing, sustainable agriculture, global technology, interdisciplinary learning, and meaningful real-world experiences. Through this integrated approach, RMCS is being developed to help students make connections across disciplines, think critically, apply their learning, contribute to their communities, and prepare confidently for a rapidly changing world.

OUR MISSION IN PRACTICE

The RMCS educational vision is built around the belief that strong academics and the development of the whole student are mutually reinforcing. The mission is reflected through four interconnected commitments.

STRONG ACADEMICS

A rigorous foundation in Alberta's curriculum, strengthened through inquiry, critical thinking, interdisciplinary learning, and meaningful application.

WHOLE-STUDENT DEVELOPMENT

An educational environment designed to support academic growth alongside physical, social, emotional, and personal wellbeing.

LEARNING THROUGH EXPERIENCE

Opportunities to connect classroom knowledge with practical experiences in areas including science, technology, agriculture, health, and the broader community.

PREPARATION FOR THE FUTURE

Developing capable, curious, adaptable learners with the confidence and skills to continue learning, contribute to their communities, and navigate a changing world.

A FOUNDATION FOR WHAT COMES NEXT

RMCS is being developed with a long-term view: to create an educational environment in which students are known, challenged, supported, and given meaningful opportunities to discover what they are capable of achieving.
